“Dynamic control: Mathematical challenges and applications<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

January 17 at 11.30<\/strong> in the Scipione Bobbio Hall, headquarters of Engineering of the Polytechnic School and of the Basic Sciences.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the conference is to highlight the important role of modern mathematical theory of controls in the field of engineering, presenting both the mathematical and computational aspects of the theory, as well as some relevant applications to the control of fluids and structures.
The seminar is open to all interested parties.<\/p>\n

Scopo della conferenza \u00e8 quello di\u00a0 evidenziare l’importante ruolo della\u00a0moderna teoria matematica dei controlli nell\u2019ambito dell\u2019Ingegneria\u00a0presentando sia gli aspetti matematici e computazionale della teoria,\u00a0 che\u00a0alcune rilevanti applicazioni al controllo dei fluidi e delle strutture.
Il seminario \u00e8 aperto a tutti gli interessati.<\/p>\n

ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mathematics have been developed for generations, along several\u00a0civilizations, to\u00a0quantify, measure, explain and understand the surrounding world. Our modern\u00a0society would not be possible without Mathematics. Mathematics and Language\u00a0constitute, probably, the main distinguishing features of human nature.<\/em>
During its evolution, Mathematics got involved into, almost, all aspects\u00a0of our life. The daily uses of Mathematics are numerous, and increasingly\u00a0relevant. And this is particular the case in the context of modern Control\u00a0Engineering.<\/em>
In this lecture, avoiding unnecessary technicalities, we shall present some\u00a0aspects of the Mathematics\u00a0 of Control, describing some of the basic\u00a0mathematical\u00a0and computational tools, and also some relevant applications to the\u00a0control of\u00a0fluids and structures.<\/em><\/p>\n
